Srinagar, Jan 31, KDC: Composite Regional Centre Bemina conducted the National level three days online Continuing Rehabilitation Education CRE programme from 29 January to 31st January 2021.

CRC Bemina in a statement to news agency kashmir.com– (KDC) said that “the target group of the CRE Programme were Rehabilitation professionals working in the field of Disability rehabilitation and registered with Rehabilitation Council of India New Delhi as professionals. The CRE programme has been approved by RCI New Delhi is very beneficial for Rehabilitation professionals for capacity building & up-gradation of professional skill and knowledge in their field.”

Director CRC Bemina Dr Mir Zaffar Iqbal
said “The eminent Resource persons from different prestigious Universities, Hospitals and institutions of various parts of the Country discussed and delivered lectures/presentations on the topic ‘Ensuring safety for children with disabilities’.”

The programme was inaugurated by Dr Mir Zafar Iqbal the Director CRC and highlighted the importance of safety and protection of children in general & children with special needs in particular.

He discussed the cruelty discrimination ignorance of children is facing within the family environment. The presidential address was delivered by Smita Jayvant the Director, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay National Institute of Physical disabilities, New Delhi.

She said “The course/ programmes are very beneficial for professionals working in the field of disability rehabilitation and especially for those who are registered as professionals with the Rehabilitation Council of India, She has also discussed the need of safety for children with disabilities in the Country and such type of programmes not only enhance the knowledge but also aware the public in respect to the said issues. This was followed by Scientific sessions, by Resource persons from across India including States of Delhi, Chandigarh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Odisha and UT of J & K.”

Dozens of speakers included Debadutta Mishra Director, Ability India Odisha, Dr Sultan Singh, Delhi University, Dr Seema Rani, Delhi University, Ms Pragati Pande, Clinical Psychologist NIMH Sehore, Dr Ajaz Khan, IMHANS Clinical psychologist Srinagar, Dr Sarfaraz, Asst Prof Dept of Social work University of Kashmir, Yashvinder Kapil I/c CBR GRID Chandigarh and Dr Nasreen Bano Academic counsellor and researcher DIET Srinagar. Speakers for Day 3 were Dr Masood Maqbool, Lecturer Clinical psychology IMHANS GMC Srinagar, Dr Adil, Asst Prof Department of Social work the University of Kashmir and many other guests spoke about various issues.

On the occasion, the Director Composite Regional Centre Srinagar also highlighted the mental health rehabilitation helpline namely “KIRAN” 24×7 Toll-free Number 18005990019 of Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India.
