The Closing ceremony will include a Fit 5 regimen demonstrated by the 7500 Athletes and will also be pitched for the Guinness Book of records. The pandemic and the continuing uncertainty, is impacting the Athletes with Intellectual Disability. Restraining their outdoor activity is a huge set-back that is pushing many of them back into isolation and despair. To overcome the challenge, S O Bharat along with conducting their medical screening, is also launching 750 SO Bharat centres in the next three years in phases of 250 each year. These centres could be any existing facilities like a school, sports club etc, that would allow the Special Athletes to continue with sports, which they otherwise relinquish due to lack of convenient infrastructure. The centres will encourage sports and expanded inclusive experiences to the Athletes, Coaches, families and communities. Regularised sports training and competitions will be provided under the supervision of dedicated coaches. Quote of Mr Ajay Patel (Chairman ADC/GSC bank)
